Children's Network Shine a Light on Child Abuse Prevention 2009 Breakfast
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, as proclaimed by the state and federal government, to promote community involvement in preventing child abuse. On March 25th 2009, San Bernardino County’s Children’s Network and Children’s Fund sponsored the 11th Annual Shine a Light on Child Abuse Prevention Awards Breakfast at the National Orange Show. The event honored many dedicated, compassionate and skilled individuals working under enormous pressure to protect children in the County.
The Shine a Light Awards Breakfast honored a number of individuals and organizations throughout the Inland Empire for their invaluable service to children of the region. National Child Abuse Prevention Month is a time to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect and to encourage individuals and communities to support children and families. People and organizations who are dedicated to protecting children use the month of April to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse in all its forms.
