Accomplishments

The Daily Referral Program assists at-risk children with food, shelter, clothing, medical care and educational needs. Our primary purpose is to provide those children at-risk are in need of, as efficiently as possible.

PANDA Program (Department of Public Health) In conjunction with the Bonnes Meres Auxiliary, The Perinatal/Alcohol Drug Risk Assessment Program has provided infant kits with diapers, formula and bottles.

Child and Adolescent Health (Department of Public Health) The Smile in Style program was assisted with Dental Hygiene Items to assist with Oral Health Education for children enrolled in the First 5 School Readiness Programs throughout San Bernardino County.

Shine A Light on Child Abuse Awards Breakfast (Children's Network) In conjunction with the Children's Network of San Bernardino County, Children's Fund recognizes those individuals that go an extra mile to assist at-risk children and raise awareness of child abuse in San Bernardino County.

The Children's Assessment Center was established in 1994 to reduce the trauma to the child victims of sexual abuse by implementing a multi-disciplinary approach during the investigative phase.

The Education First Program for Homeless Children combined educational support and case management by providing all the services for the child and family, which include transportation, breakfast and lunch, clothing, school supplies and family support (shelter and employment counseling/training).

Annual Celebration of Giving is Children's Funds campaign to collect toys, through donations of product and dollars to brighten the holidays for underprivileged children in San Bernardino County.

The Children's Coalition is a partnership with Children's Fund, Children's Network and Loma Linda University to serve as a united voice for children and to raise funds to prevent child abuse.

The Cal State Scholarship Endowment is a partnership between Children's Fund and Cal State University, San Bernardino to serve as a safety net for four foster care youth entering their sophomore year at the University.

The Community College Scholarship Endowments are partnerships between Children's Fund and four local Community Colleges to serve as a safety net for eight foster care youth perusing the path of higher education.

 

Children's Fund 20 Year Accomplishments

1986
Children's Fund is established by the Board of Supervisors as a non-profit component of the San Bernardino County's model agency, Children's Network.

1988
Children's Fund began to educate California Lawmakers on children’s issues and worked with them to enact state policy changes to assist at-risk children and families.

1st Celebration of Giving Campaign in conjunction with the U.S. Marine Corp Toys for Tots Campaign.

1989
Enactment of the Interagency Children's Services Act, Senate bill 997.

1991
Under the leadership of the late A. Gary Anderson, the President's Circle was formed.

Organization name changed from First Fund of Children's Resources to Children's Fund.

1992
1st Rubber Duck Race
A. Gary Anderson Memorial Golf Classic.

1999
Children's Fund takes on the task of raising the funds to purchase and refurbish a 5000 square foot building to house the Children's Fund Assessment Center.

2001
2nd Annual Poker Run held by the law enforcement motorcycle club The Choir Boys to benefit the Children's Fund.

Children's Fund presents a Christmas concert by Inner Voices to benefit the Celebration of Giving.

2002
Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation dedicates a new $1.2 million dollar building to house the Children's Services Center and name the building the A. Gary Anderson Children's Services Center.

Bonnes Meres Holiday auction raises $53,000 to benefit Children's Fund.

2005
Superior Court Judge Patrick Morris partners with the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center in Devore and announces the launch of the Comfort Quilt program to benefit Children's Fund.

A. Gary Anderson Memorial Golf Classic nets $368,000.
Bonnes Meres Holiday Auction raises $?? to benefit Children's Fund.

2006
The A. Gary Anderson Memorial Golf Classic is now in its 14th year and should exceed the $3 million dollar mark in funds raised.
