The Bonnes Meres Auxiliary will hold its 51st Holiday Auction and Luncheon Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino. Social hour and auction viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. The program will begin at 10:30, with Martha Green as the auctioneer, followed by lunch.
Holiday Table tickets are $50 each. Silver Table tickets are $100 each and include VIP seating, an added cheese course, a hand painted ornament, an extra wine selection, a votive candle and an opportunity to win a table door prize.
Guests will have the opportunity to bid on items such as "Santa's Helpers," one full day with two of Santa's elves for 10 hours of "magical" help during the holidays; "Experience the Dodgers," a Dodger package including a meet and greet with Hall of Fame broadcaster Jorge Jarrin and Dodger legend Fernando Valenzuela; sunset dinner cruise in Newport Harbor, followed by dinner for eight; premium Laker tickets; dinner party for 10 prepared by Santa Monica's famous chef Sean Kilpatrick.
There will be many items in both live and silent auctions. Guests will also be able to purchase opportunity tickets; drawing prizes include a $1,000 Stater Bros. Markets shopping spree donated by Friends of Bonnes Meres Auxiliary; $500 Victoria Gardens gift card donated by the Law Offices of Borton Petrini LLP; $200 Nordstrom gift card donated by Nancy Johnson; Brighton handbag donated by Mozart's; and a Wii System with Wii Fit and Wii Resorts donated by the Mudge family.
"As an auxiliary of the Children's Fund of San Bernardino County, it is our mission to fulfill needs in the lives of at-risk children in our community," said Mallory Mudge, chairman for this year's Holiday Auction. "The funds raised at our annual Holiday Auction and Luncheon directly touch the lives of these children.”
Mudge is assisted by co-chairman Valerie Peister. Other committee chairmen include Anita West-Macready, live auction; Jenny Vannatter, silent auction; Amy Curti and Joyce Waner, decorations; Kristin Pierce and Jill Prendergast, underwriting and sponsorship; and Cindy Goddard, reservations.
Other chairmen are Susan Phillips and Berangere Robertson Tucker, cashiers; Cheryl Adams, publicity, invitations and programs; Marita Gardner, opportunity tickets; Michelle Kavanaugh, hospitality; and Nana Allen, "Fund-an-Item."
Those who would like to contribute to Children's Fund but cannot attend the Holiday Auction are invited to donate for this year's featured "Fund-an-Item" program.
A donation of $25 will provide two insulated lunch bags filled with healthy snacks. Lunch bags are distributed by case managers from Children's and Family Services throughout San Bernardino County to at-risk children in immediate need.
Donations can be sent to Bonnes Meres Auxiliary, P.O. Box 8153, Redlands, CA 92373. Make a notation on the check as to where the donation should be applied, toward the "Fund-an-Item" or as a straight donation.
